Russian fisheries agency Rosrybolovstvo has begun revoking quotas from companies it contends are controlled by foreign interests, in part due to the conclusions of recent Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) investigations some in the industry suggest reveal "double standards."

An investigation by FAS between October and December last year concluded Far Eastern fishing companies Atlantika, Dalmoreprodukt, Typhoon, CRAB DV and Zarubinskaya Fleet Base were illegally harvesting under Russian quotas when their ultimate ownership is foreign.

The FAS alleges Ukrainian citizen Dmitry Dremlyuga, who was a non-tax paying resident of Russia, controlled the companies at the time they were allocated 10-year quotas in 2008.
