Russia’s Ministry of Agriculture set the total allowable catch (TAC) for the 2023 pollock season in the country’s Far East Fishing Basin at 2.0597 million metric tons, up 6.5 percent from this year, when the quota was set at 1.927 million metric tons.
The numbers are in contrast from last week's forecast from the Groundish Forum, which projected a decline in the Russian harvest in 2023 of 2.8 percent to 1.775 million metric tons.
