Russia’s Duma - the lower house of the Russian Parliament – adopted a measure authorizing a new stage of the country's investment quota program.

The new law provides for an allocation of 24 percent of the quota of pollock and herring fishing in the Far East, and additional 4 percent of quota for Far Eastern companies involved in the first stage of the investment quota program.

In total, Russia’s federal fishery agency Rosrybolovstvo intends to allocate 44 percent of fishing quotas earlier distributed on historical basis, given 20 percent allocated for the first stage of the program.
