The second edition of the Global Fishery Forum will be held in Russia Sept. 14 and Sept. 15 in Saint Petersburg.

The event brings together members of international food and fisheries organizations, specialized ministries from the leading fishery countries and international seafood companies.

The event’s program "Global fishing activities 2050: resources, markets, technologies" focuses on global challenges from the shortage of fish resources to population growth.

Attendees of the opening ceremony include Russian Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev, Russian Deputy Minister of Agriculture Ilya Shestakov, as well as their counterparts in the Faroe Islands, Mauritania, Morocco, Korea and Guinea.

“Holding the second Global Fishery Forum is a momentous event for the Russian and global fisheries industry,” said Russian Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev.

“I am confident that the forum’s active discussions of pressing issues in the global fishery will have a positive effect on the development of the industry and on the professional ties between Russia and the international community.”
