Russia’s Ministry of Agriculture announced a total allowable catch (TAC) for pollock of 1.79 million metric tons for the 2019 season, a 0.28 percent increase from the 1.78 million metric tons TAC of 2018.

The quota is in line with recommendations released in May from Russian scientists from the Vladivostok-based fishery research center TINRO.

The TAC was approved by Russia’s Ministry of Agriculture on Nov. 9, Alexey Buglak, vice-president of the Russian Pollock Catchers Association (PCA), told IntraFish.
