After another year of "ups and downs" in the global coldwater shrimp market -- with fluctuating prices and inconsistent availability -- Royal Greenland is taking steps to "ensure a calmer market" this year.
The increasing prices have reached their peak and have settled at a slightly lower level than last year, but volatility still roams when it comes to supply, the company said.
Size changes were one of the biggest issues over the past 12 months: Throughout 2016, it became clear the challenges in the market on size composition were not only caused by skews in demand for large and small shrimp, but also reflected current catch composition.
