Mikael Thiinguus, CEO of Greenland-based coldwater shrimp harvesting company Royal Greenland, is looking at 2019 with concern, but is less pessimistic than he has been in recent months.

“There is plenty to be nervous about, there are so many uncertainties in the world,” Thinghuus told IntraFish.

The fishing industry is particularly vulnerable to tariffs and currency fluctuations, he said, and either directly or indirectly, all operations are heavily susceptible to trade wars.

“Fishing is one of the most international sectors, we all have great dependency on trade,” he said.
