The pink salmon harvest in Prince William Sound currently stands at 24 million fish, exceeding the Alaska Department of Fish and Game's (ADF&G) initial harvest projection of 19 million.

"This year has so far been an exceptional even-year harvest," Heather Scannell, seine area management biologist in Cordova for ADF&G, told IntraFish.

Pink salmon return to Alaska rivers in higher numbers in odd years. Smaller harvests are typical in even-numbered years.
