Peru's massive anchovy fishery is not far away from being ready for the assessment stage for Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification, Ernesto Godelman, CEO of CeDePesca, the Center for Development and Sustainable Fisheries, told IntraFish.
But given the background of the current coronavirus pandemic, which is taking up much of the government's time, and the layers of bureaucracy still to navigate, Goldman is unable to put a timeline on when the process will get underway.
