Peruvian fishing and processing company Pesquera Exalmar posted a more than threefold increase in its second quarter earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA).

EBITDA came in at $72.3 million (€61.3 million), up from $21.8 million (€18.5 million) a year earlier.

Sales climbed 154 percent, to $235.9 million (€200 million) as the company processed more fish than in the same quarter a year earlier, benefitting from higher inventories at the start of the year.
