Just over a third of anchovy quota for Peru's second season in the North Central region of the country's waters had been landed by Dec. 20, the Ministry of Production (Produce) said.

Vessels harvested 955,196 metric tons of anchovy by that date, equivalent to 34.29% of the quota announced in November for the second season, which is likely to spill over into the opening months of 2020.

The quota set at just under 2.79 million metric tons figure represents a 33% increase compared with Peru's 2018 second season, when the total allowable catch (TAC) was set at 2.1
