The Institute of the Sea of Peru (Imarpe) began a 46-day evaluation of the anchovy stock in order to determine the start of the this year's second fishing season in the north-central area.
Two scientific research vessels have been sent out, staffed by 60 scientists and technicians, as well as six commercial vessels with modern detection equipment.
