Peru's Ministry of Production (Produce) has authorized a 2.792 million-metric-ton anchovy quota for the first season of 2022 in north central waters.

The quota is 12 percent higher than the same period last year.

Marine scientists spent time at sea gauging stock levels before delivering their assessment to government officials.
