Peruvian anchovy fishing vessels have so far landed 48 percent of the total allowable catch (TAC) for the first season in the country's North Central waters, according to the International Marine Ingredients Organization (IFFO), which receives industry updates from companies participating in the fishery.

As of June 8, harvesting was roughly on track with last year.

Last month, Peru's Ministry of Production (Produce) authorized a 2.792 million-metric-ton anchovy quota for the first season of 2022. The quota is 12 percent higher than for the same season last year.
