A group of Bristol Bay commercial fishermen in Alaska have teamed up with the developer of the Pebble mine prospect to sue the Bristol Bay Regional Seafood Development Association (BBRSDA) over its use of funds to combat the project.

Alaska Public Media reports the plaintiffs are arguing the BBRSDA's contracts with SalmonState and the United Tribes of Bristol Bay are illegal because the groups oppose the mine, and BBRSDA can only use its funding to market seafood, based on state statute.
