Nueva Pescanova finalized a deal for a €42.5 million ($50.3 million) investment in its fleet over the next two years, it said.

The company finalized a deal with shipyard Astilleros Armon to start construction of seven new vessels in Galicia in 2018. They include three 50-meter freshwater trawlers for Namibia, and four 32-meter freezer vessels for Mozambique.

This is one of the main investments in assets planned by the group within its Strategic Plan 2020.

The contract will be signed in the coming weeks, and is expected to generate 200 jobs in Galicia between 2018 and 2020.
