The merger between longline fishing companies Ervik Havfiske and Carisma Fish will result in the creation of one of the world’s biggest longline companies, based in northwest Norway, with joint 2016 turnover of NOK 658 million (€67.4 million/$82.7 million) and operating profit of over NOK 165 million (€16.9 million/$20.7 million).

Arild Aarvik, owner of Carisma Fish, said the merger is a win-win situation for both sides.

"The company will become an even more important player, not only in line fishing, but in the fishing industry in general," said Aarvik.
