Norway has set a final unilateral mackerel quota for 2022 slightly higher than was previously announced last month.

After repeated rounds of negotiations without agreement among the Coastal States, Norway’s Ministry of Trade and Industry chose to increase the national mackerel quota for 2022 to 281,171 metric tons.

In June the ministry said the quota would be set at 278,222 metric tons, a decrease of around seven percent compared with last year.
