Norway, the European Union and the United Kingdom reached an agreement Tuesday on the joint management of stocks in the North Sea.

The agreement covers six shared stocks -- cod, haddock, saithe, plaice, herring, and blue whiting. The three parties have been negotiating since the beginning of the year.

In the North Sea, the saithe quota for 2021 was reduced by 25 percent to 59,512 metric tons, of which the Norwegian quota will be 30,946 metric tons.
