North Atlantic pelagic supplies are going to fall in 2019, with a 25 percent cut to the overall Norwegian pelagic quota, according to Paul Oma, CEO, Norway Sales Organization for Pelagic Fish.

All species combined, the quota has fallen from 1.52 million metric tons last year to 1.12 million in 2019.

North Sea herring quotas have been cut from 179,391 metric tons to 114,677 metric tons; mackerel is down from 189,482 metric tons to 152,811 metric tons; blue whiting dropped from 421,100 metric tons to 356,251 metric tons; and capelin has been cut completely to zero.
