SHRIMP boats from Venezuela and traditional Japanese tuna liners are among the latest types of vessels to switch to longlining equipped with US-made Lindgren-Pitman monofilament reels, writes Ian Strutt.
The Florida-based company is finding new markets around the world as owners take advantage of the crew reductions possible when fishing with monofilament longline reels as compared to using traditional tuna line fishing methods.
