Seattle-based management company Global Seas is on a drive to take a larger role in the Alaska pollock fishery in the Bering Sea, and it's recent vessel investments show it's ready to roll.

"Our goal is to have the most modern wetfish fleet in the US," Bob Desautel, president and CEO of Global Seas told IntraFish late last year. "We believe the Defender class vessels will help us to accomplish this goal in keeping with our mission and delivering the highest quality to the fishing industry and the public."
