The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) is seeing rapid growth in relatively under-developed countries when it comes to seafood sustainability awareness, most notably in Japan, which is showing the “most exciting” promise, Nicolas Guichoux, chief program officer at the MSC, told IntraFish.
“Our footprint used to be narrow with a focus on the Northern hemisphere, specifically northern Europe and North America, where most of the core fisheries are certified,” he said.
