The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) last week finalized the withdrawal of Canada-based Clearwater Seafoods from its certification program, after the group decided not to pursue re-assessment.

Last month, the company decided to let go of the certification for its eastern Canadian lobster fishery, calling it "a voluntary decision driven by business considerations."

The fishing vessels that no longer have the certification include Clearwater's Randell Dominaux and its Fundy Leader.
