The lawyer for Johannes Stefansson, the ex-Samherji employee who blew the whistle on the company for alleged bribery of Namibian government officials in exchange for fishing quotas, believes that multinational corporations in general have a problem with corruption when seeking licenses for fishing in other countries' zones.

"The Samherji case clearly shows that the fishing industry is at risk, not only in Namibia," said Joly, pointing to experiences she has had with similar conditions related to the oil industry.
