NINE boats and two consignments landed a massive 4938 boxes at Peterhead market on Monday of this week, dwarfing the year's previous record of 4445 boxes landed back on Tuesday 8 February, writes David Linkie.

The record tally included 326 boxes of green, 680 of gutted haddock, 2691 rounders, 224 flats and eight boxes of monkfish.

Peterhead's top two selections of green sold at £2.60-£3.60 per kg, with medium, selected and small at £3-£3.40, £2-£2.40 and £1.50-£2.40 per kg respectively.
