ICES recommends 22% cut in Northeast Atlantic mackerel quota

With spawning populations "dangerously close to the precautionary level," the advice is the lowest in more than 10 years.

The International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) has cut its recommended quota for Northeast Atlantic mackerel to 576,958 metric tons for 2025.
