Iceland and Russia reached an agreement on fishing rights for cod and other species in the Barents Sea for 2019 at the Smugus Convention in Moscow.

The Icelandic fishing fleet will have access to 6,592 metric tons of cod in the Russian part of the Barents Sea in 2019, and up to 1,978 metric tons of other species, of which haddock cannot exceed 521 metric tons.

A so-called sales quota, which is approximately one-third of the quantity mentioned above, was also negotiated.
