HYDROGEN power should have been researched before admits Jón Björn Skúlason of the company Icelandic New Energy.
He has been promoting hydrogen as a fuel in Iceland for some years. Hydrogen-powered buses now drive the streets of Reykjavík and a small fleet of hydrogen-powered cars are in use.
He tells FNI: “The bus project was very positive. The technology performed better than we had hoped. Buses are in commercial production.”
Jón Björn Skúlason says that Icelandic New Energy has carried out a desk study to look into the use of hydrogen power on ships.
