The North Pacific Fishery Management Council (NPFMC) set the maximum total allowable catch (TAC) for Pacific cod in 2018 at 188,136 metric tons, which is 16 percent less than the current Bering Sea TAC of 223,704 metric tons.
The maximum Alutian Islands 2018 Pacific cod TAC is 15,695 metric tons. In the Gulf of Alaska, the federal TAC is 13,096 for 2018, an 80 percent drop from the 2017 TAC
