An NGO focused on social justice issues in Angola is calling on the Icelandic government to suspend commercial relations with the African country, claiming it has not taken action to address corruption linked to the ongoing Samherji cash-for-quotas scandal.

The organization, Plataforma de Reflexao Angola (Platform for Angolan Reflection), which represents Angolans living in Portugal, doesn’t want trade between the countries to resume until the full implications of the scandal are understood.
