France-based Piriou shipyard in November delivered two new tuna longliners to Navimon, a subsidiary of Sem Sodil and the first fishing shipowner in New Caledonia.

In October 2017, Navimon ordered at total of eight 20.7-meter vessels, which will fish exclusively in the New Caledonia Economic Exclusive Zone.

An additional three vessels are due for delivery by the end of 2019, Piriou said.

These new units are designed to improve crew comfort, make maintenance operations easier, optimize expenses and answer issues related to security and environmental compliance, the company said.
