The Argentinean red shrimp fishing season in national waters kicked off in mid-June, a month later than last year, and only in restricted areas.

Despite this, vessels have been able to land normal volumes of the product, but prices and demand are slowing down compared with recent seasons.

The Argentinean Institute of Fisheries development (Inidep) opened a limited number of fishing areas following exhaustive biomass assessments of the fishery's stock. At the moment, the fishery does not operate under a quota system.
