The European Commission released a document outlining some of the key issues and changes that will be happening in the United Kingdom's fisheries sector, beginning the withdrawal in November 2019.

Among more specific clarifications, the document confirms that EU laws, including the fishing opportunities regulation 2019, will no longer apply to the United Kingdom. Conversely, UK authorities will not be allowed to carry inspections in EU waters.

In addition, the EU confirmed that fishing quotas for UK vessels will be decided by the UK government.
