With 79 percent of the anchovy catch landed in Peru's main north-central fishing zone this week, it is becoming increasingly uncertain whether the total allowable catch (TAC) for the first season will be fulfilled.

Numbers provided by the International Marine Ingredients Organization (IFFO) show only a four percent increase in landings since last week.

The quota for the first season authorized by Peru's Ministry of Production (Produce) was set at 2.792 million metric tons, 12 percent higher than for the same season last year.
