"MOST of the big new shrimpers built this year have taken our doors. We've had a good year, " Ole Kjaergaard of trawl door manufacturer Thyboron Skibbsmedie of Thyboron tells FNI.
The company has also supplied trawl doors and roller clumps fitted with foils for the new triple-rig trawler Remoy Viking (see FNI, November 2000 and Page 20 this month).
They were designed to give spreading force to port and starboard to provide spread on the middle trawl as it is shot away, also to keep the spread on all three trawls equal while towing.
