Danish firm launches next-generation factory trawler

Denmark-based ship design firm Knud E. Hansen rethinks the classic design of the factory trawler and develops what it says is an entirely new and better trawler design.

In its redesign, the company focused on the construction of the hull, including trim, draught and ballast; the engines and propulsion systems; the arrangement aft on the trawl deck; the cargo hold, including accessibility and working conditions; stairways and accommodation quarters; and engine room arrangement.
