As of Thursday, six people are in custody amid fishing giant Samherji's bribery allegations, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) of Namibia confirmed for IntraFish.

Those involved are former Fisheries Minister Bernhard Esau, former Justice Minister Sacky Shanghala, former Investec Asset Management Namibia Managing Director James Hatuikulipi, and former Investec Asset Management Namibia Clients Director Ricardo Gustavo.

Relatives to Hatuikulipi, namely Tamson 'Fitty' Hatuikulipi and Pius 'Taxa' Mwatelulo were also taken in.

According to the Namibian, an affidavit submitted last week to the High Court by ACC Lead Investigator Andreas Kanyangela said these people were implicated in a fishing quota donation to the Angolan government.
