Netherlands-based seafood giant Cornelis Vrolijk has formed a 50-50 joint venture partnership with Dutch shellfish supplier and farmer Krijn Verwijs.
Both businesses signed a letter of intent in which Cornelis Vrolijk will participate in the seafood activities of Krijn Verwijs.
"With Cornelis Vrolijk as a complementary partner, we join forces and add value to our company," said Caroline Verwijs, director at Krijn Verwijs.
"It improves our regional and international position, [and] strengthens our product portfolio."
Krijn Verwijs will remain a family shellfish business specializing in oysters, mussels, lobsters and crabs.
