Clearwater is currently seeing a strong market for scallop with reasonable prices as demand continues to increase on par with global volumes.
“Business is good, we are benefiting from strong consumer demand in all regions, and although scallop volumes are increasing around the world, pricing keeps being reasonable,” Ian Smith, CEO of Clearwater, told IntraFish.
“Economic conditions continue to be positive,” he said.
In addition, Clearwater and Canadian seafood exporters in general are seeing strong benefits in international trade.
The growth in China as a seafood importer is a positive development for firms in the sector around the world.
