Canada's RC Northern Organics is proposing to build an organic Atlantic salmon hatchery near Grande-Anse, Gloucester County, New Brunswick.

The hatchery would sit on the site of a former fish processing plant and rely on existing infrastructure where possible, including the existing building for the freshwater hatchery, and saltwater wells for the grow-out building. Under the plans, fish would be hatched from eggs and grown to adult size before being shipped to market.

The development is contained in documents from New Brunswick-based Roy Consultants, which is undertaking an Environmental Impact Assessment of the project.
