Bristol Bay sockeye harvest forecasted to be significantly lower for 2023

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) is forecasting a total Bristol Bay sockeye salmon harvest of 38 million fish, a nearly 38 percent drop from this year's record catch of 60.1 million sockeye.

ADF&G forecasts a total run of 51 million fish in the bay, which is in line with an earlier forecast obtained by IntraFish from sources with knowledge of the fishery.
