Longtime Bristol Bay Fisherman Michael Jackson has been "scratching his eyes out" preparing his boat and crew to fish in the popular Nushagak River District of Bristol Bay, where researchers project a massive amount of sockeye will return this summer.
"I never buy a wheelbarrow before I got to the bank," Jackson told IntraFish. But he noted he is "cautiously optimistic" that Bristol Bay's Nushagak District sockeye salmon run could match the approximately 29.5 million fish forecast.
