RON MANN took a huge risk when he spent Can$10 million bringing the 57.5 metre groundfish freezer trawler Osprey No.1 from Iceland to operate off British Columbia, Canada.

But the experienced fisherman, who owns the largest vessel on the BC coast and runs the export company Mariner Seafoods with his wife Hetty and five daughters, says the family effort is making the forward thinking investment a success.
