Some 10,000 Atlantic salmon weighing an average of 4.3 kilos died at the Aysen farm of Chilean producer Granja Marina.
The company informed Chilean aquaculture and fisheries agency Sernapesca April 12 that the fish died due to the presence of Cochlodiniumalgae.
