Michigan-based food distributor Superior Foods Company announced Friday it has acquired the Black Pearl Seafood trademarks from US salmon supplier Martin International Corp.
Richard Martin, CEO of Martin International, told IntraFish he closed down the company in September. The company, founded in 1985, was and importer and exporter of farmed and wild salmon, scallops and other seafood products.
"The lack of clarity of the COVID shutdowns made the extension of credit and process of expanding business untenable," said Martin.
