US investment firm Eat & Beyond Global has completed an acquisition of Canada-based insect protein company Goldbloom.

The investor completed the acquisition, which was first announced in June, of 50 percent of the issued and outstanding shares, and 100 percent of the outstanding warrants in the capital of Goldbloom.

Goldbloom upcycles materials to produce sustainable protein from the black soldier fly larvae for use in the aquaculture sector, as well as pet food, livestock, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals sectors.

Goldbloom has offices in Toronto and a 20,000 square foot grow facility near Guelph, in western Canada.
