Aquaculture services giant NTS secured 68 percent of the shares in Norway Royal Salmon (NRS) when the final day of bidding for the Norwegian salmon farmer closed Thursday.

NTS had at the time of expiry of the offer period received acceptances for a total of 13,414,758 shares, equal to 30.79 percent of the total number of shares and votes in NRS and 200,000 shares acquired in the market Thursday. It paid a price of NOK 240 (€23.12/$27.21) per share.

The company had already secured more than 50 percent, quashing a rival bid from salmon farmer SalMar, and clinched almost 20 percent more as the deadline loomed.
