Norwegian salmon producer SalMar announced Wednesday it raised a whopping NOK 2.7 billion ($330 million/€270 million) in an oversubscribed share issue that it plans on using for "attractive investment opportunities."

The company announced Tuesday it would issue 4.5 shares at a price of NOK 602 ($73.06/€59.90) per share. SalMar said both Norwegian and international investors participated in the share issue, which was "oversubscribed several times."

SalMar said in the current market environment it sees several attractive growth and investment opportunities across the entire value chain "from roe to plate."
