UK seafood trader Mardon saw its profit jump 16.3 percent in the financial year ended Sept. 30, 2016, after seeing an "exceptional" hike in its sales.

Profit for the year amounted to £440,109 (€515,997/$546,677), up from £378,322 (€443,556/$469,929) in the previous year.

The company, which also sells a range of meat products, reported a turnover of £16.1 million (€18.9 million/$20 million), which shot up 38.8 percent from the £11.6 million (€13.6 million/$14.4 million) in 2015.
